Up Shedda Aya Asma Hiba Razan Former Girls

Name: Shedda

Birthdate: August 8, 1998

Shedda is eight - the oldest of four sisters from a camp near Jericho.  One of her sisters is also disabled and can not speak.  Shedda's family is Muslim.  They are farmers and have some sheep but are extremely poor.

Shedda is a joy and as Auntie Lulu says, "She brings life to this place."  But please pray for Shedda's behavior and interaction with the other children.  We aren’t sure if she has any toys at home (at all) because unlike the other girls, Shedda doesn’t know how to play with most toys.  She is intelligent and can learn quickly, but simply doesn’t know how to use the toys or share with others.  Here she learns to wash and dress herself, but did not know how to wash herself before her time at the House of Hope. Our workers have a difficult time sometimes after holiday and summer breaks, because after being home, Shedda seems to forget lessons she has learned here.

Always in a hurry--whether eating, dressing or riding her bike--Shedda loves to be the fastest.  She also loves dance parties in the playroom and loves making up songs about her teachers or her plans for the next day.  Shedda has been here for about a year and her overflowing happiness has blessed us more than words can say.
