 March 2007

2 Corinthians 4:6
"For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ."

Dear Friends,

The weather is getting warmer and every day the One who makes the sun shine in the sky also makes his Son shine in our hearts.  Our students play in the spring air with smiles that display God's love. Throughout their day, many of the students just can't hold it in. They're constantly praising the Lord for His goodness through song and prayers, even while outside on the playground!  It's a blessing to witness it.

During the past month, one of our volunteers has been adding new content (photos, news and informational profiles about our family) to our web site. The week she returns to the States, a new volunteer from Canada is coming to do the same work she began in the office!  It's so great to see God fulfill His work, sending in reinforcements when needed. The new Canadian volunteer, April Griffin, will work as a house mother in the afternoons and will gather information and write for our web site in the mornings.  God is One who always finishes what He starts.

This March, we are happy to see Anwar, one of our former students, living here again.  His family is too poor to pay for the medicine he needs, and as Anwar is extremely disabled, the House of Hope has teamed up with Jemima (another local ministry) to provide Anwar with special care.  Anwar has already made new friends because he knows to greet each one with a big smile.

This month, our director and her family were blessed by a short but sweet visit with relatives from the States.  The guests came for two weeks to encourage and fellowship with their family.   The pace was fast and the family was busy, but everyone had a great time.  They will indeed be missed until their next visit.

As you may be following on the news, our land is in the process of forming a unified government.  The political situation demands prayer from the faithful.  We know that the fate of millions involved depends not on the agreements reached, but on God's power. Please pray that leaders would make right choices and that there will peace at last.  If you could please pray in faith for the following requests, we know our God will answer us:

·         Please pray for our political situation during peace talks and the days ahead.

·         Pray for financial provision.

·         Pray for the workers and students to deepen their walks with Christ daily.

·         Thank God for our new volunteer and for another month of provision and safety.  We thank you also for your prayers and support and for your generous gift of ________.
