Name: Nabil
Birthday: December 3, 1995
Nabil is one of our newest boarders at the House of Hope.
His family is Muslim and lives in a camp in
Nabil suffers from some hyperactivity and attention deficit problems, but is
otherwise extremely high functioning and very intelligent.
In school, he learns to read and write, and his English is impressive
for such a young age. Nabil picks up
most of his English from foreign house parents and simply loves to speak or kid
around in both Arabic and English.
Nabil isn’t shy but is often bashful, especially when receiving compliments on
his English or a finished coloring book page. He
loves Christ and is one of our loudest singers at evening devotions.
He also loves to eat.
Zaacky (snacktime) one of Nabil's favorite activities.
When asked what he enjoys about the House of Hope, Nabil responded (as
any boarder should when speaking to a house mother), "I love all my aunties!"
Please pray for Nabil and his family. Pray that he continues to learn and be obedient to his teachers, and that he is able to pay attention especially at evening devotions. We explained the Gospel message to Nabil and he has accepted Jesus, but sometimes has trouble focusing on the nightly stories, thus missing the endings. (In any story, these can be the most important part!) Nabil needs focus but has joy. We praise God for the work He has started. |
