Lulu

Lulu David is not only the sister of former director Michael David and daughter of current "Taita" Christine David.  She is a sister in Christ to all our workers here and a mother to all our children.

Lulu grew up with deep involvement in the House of Hope.  Her mother, Christine, worked full-time aiding Aunty May in her ministry, and Lulu spent her school years in Ramallah, at an Evangelical School for Girls.  She still remembers the week she decided to accept Christ into her life.  Corrie Ten Boom came and gave a series of lectures for one week and her testimony of forgiveness touched Lulu's heart.  She told her teacher she wanted the same Jesus in her heart and accepted his love at age 12.

Upon graduation from school, Lulu spent four years in Gaza studying nursing.  She served in Gaza for ten years as a registered nurse and for five years in Bethlehem at a local hospital.  After a "vacation" to the States to help her brother's family in their home, Lulu returned to Beit Sahour, where she lives with her mother.  When there were no volunteers during the Intifada, Christine asked her daughter to serve as a house mother.  Lulu still remembers the days when there were only two volunteers—with ten children and no days off, she says they were happy and had a great time.

Today, Lulu's favorite activity with the kids is to be outside in the sun.  She loves her job and is so happy she stepped up to volunteer when there was a need.  "I love it here now," she says.  "I love the kids.  We don't work for money here; it's something we do for God."
