Kais Executive Assistant to the Director Kais aids our Director, Rhoda, in all of her work. He helps run the offices. He helps run the Home. But he does much more than that. Kais is able to reflect Christ all the while—the most important part of his job.
As a willing servant,
Kais does whatever needs to be done.
He knows what’s going on—who should be where, who has been where, who
should have what keys, which people to call, etc.
He makes others comfortable before relaxing or taking a break. “When you
love your work, you give a lot,” he says. “If you don’t love it, you won’t
give.” And Kais loves it. Before reading what
Kais has to say about the Home, know that he said
very seriously, “I am NOT
exaggerating.” Kais is very firm on
this. None of his thoughts and
feelings about work are exaggerations.
Okay. That said—here’s a few
things Kais has said about the HOH. “It’s exciting and a
pleasure for me to work with disabled people.
I like it because they are such a deprived social group and really need
our help. When something positive
happens with them or they learn something new, we are all happy. This is the motivation,
that we are living our Christian life day by day and this comes through our
work.
Christ is the important thing, and He
is a good motivation.” I give my time to the
home, I don’t look for or expect more if I work extra hours.
We give more than we take.
And we like it. I feel the House of
Hope is not an institution or official work, it’s my home.” Kais learns important
lessons from the people he helps. “We teach them and we
learn from them.” And he is
not exaggerating. |
