Joseph

Workshop Manager

Joseph (Abu Issa) has been involved with the House of Hope his entire life.  He has been invaluable to our ministry and God has used him mightily to teach and to create.

Born almost entirely blind, Joseph was brought by his parents at age ten to Aunty May.  In 1984, Joseph started to work full time at the House of Hope. He helped to set up our first workshop, where workers spent days making rugs and carpets on looms. Today the workshop functions as a broom and brush factory and employs several local blind and partially-sighted men.

Joseph has been married for 30 years to a wonderful woman and he has three children, all of whom are married.  Just recently, their oldest daughter gave birth to a beautiful granddaughter!  Congratulations on behalf of the House of Hope.

Although he lost his sight entirely a few years ago he continues to faithfully work as our shop manager, does many maintenance jobs and creates beautiful items through his carpentry.  He explains that "All my work is for the House of Hope".  We thank God for Joseph who is an excellent workshop manager with an encouraging spirit and is a great friend to everyone at the House of Hope!
