Jessie served with us at the House of Hope for one year as a House father.  From the USA, he adjusted well to living here and his music, devotion and love poured out into all our lives.  We all miss him deeply and hope to see him again after he finishes his degree in the States.

"I recommend the House of Hope to anyone called by God to face the challenge of working with children, particularly special needs children and/or handicapped adults in a cross-cultural setting. I found the staff of the Home hospitable, the people of Palestine welcoming, and my co-workers accomodating, almost to a fault. I met more people from various places in the world during my year at Bethlehem than in all the previous 25 years of my life. This experience also gave me the chance to build friendships among the many Arab Christians of the West Bank, especially in the Bethlehem area. Furthermore, I found that volunteer work of this nature provides an ideal inlet to the Arab Muslim community in a viable and non-confrontational ministry that evokes both their astonishment and admiration. I learned the culture and language of the Palestinian Arabs, and found ample time to visit sites in Jordan and Israel.

I would like to re-emphasize that if the Lord puts on your heart to help in this ministry, step up with the confidence of His calling and the courage of His presence and provision amid overwhelming challenges. Certainly the Lord Jesus used this ministry in my life to strip me of pretenses of personal pride and equip me for His Kingdom service. May He graciously grant you the same.
