Up Ayman Jaffar Nicola Issa Amer Samer

Jaffar's life is a song of praise to God.  His light is almost impossible to explain.  There has never been another Jaffar, and there never will be.  He displays the Holy Spirit's power and comfort in his life through song and encouragement to others.  At 24, and in his 14th year at the House of Hope, Jaffar is a blessing to every person he meets-whether adult, child, staff or volunteer-and his voice has brought tears of joy to the eyes of many visitors and friends.

In his family of 10 brothers and sisters, three of the siblings (including Jaffar) are disabled and both he and his sister are blind.  Jaffar's father does not normally have work and so the family is poor.  Jaffar knows that his family will not accept his great love for Jesus-if he tells them of his joy and conversion, they may beat him. He goes home on some holiday breaks, but not every time.

When Jaffar came to the House of Hope from his home in Hebron, he was shy and reserved.  Today, he sings and praises God almost every minute of the day at the top of his lungs.  He listens and learns to care for himself and others with the help of Miss Violet.  He can often be heard explaining the reason for his faith in Christ and he encourages the believers in our home through his great joy.  The beautiful voice that God has given Jaffar is not wasted on anything-when he is not singing praise songs, he is usually speaking of his Savior.

Everyone who meets Jaffar loves him deeply. Many people say Jaffar lives in his own world.  We know that someday, though he is now blind, he will see Christ face to face.  Please pray for the situation with his Muslim family and pray that Jaffar will continue to sing for many years to come.  His prayers reach God's ears and bring Him glory and we praise God for his love.
