Name: (Mohammad) Forrest

Birthday: July 27, 1993

Forrest is a picture of God's grace and love.  His Muslim family has been ministered to greatly as they have seen God begin to heal Forrest physically and spiritually.

Forrest was born with an abnormal increase of fluid around his brain, a condition known as hydrocephalus.  His family didn’t know there was a problem until his head began to swell larger and larger—by the time they brought him to a physician, it was too late.  The doctor prescribed medicine to halt the swelling but could not reverse the damage done to his brain.  Today, Forrest is learning well and can help care for himself but because of his previous condition, he is mentally disabled and damage has also been done to his muscles (especially those in his legs.)

In 2005, God used the House of Hope to provide funds for Forrest to have surgery on his legs, enabling him to walk and move more freely.  His family was too poor to pay for the procedure and was ecstatic and surprised by such an act of mercy.  It was a great display of God's love and we are excited to see how the family will respond as they see Forrest continue to progress.

Forrest benefits weekly from physical therapy at a local center called LifeGate.  He is doing very well.  He loves to do puzzles, color with crayons and visit his family near the Home—as the oldest of three, Forrest is a great helper.

Please pray for Forrest as his health improves.  Pray for his family to see Christ as a Healer but also as a Savior.  Forrest's real name is Mohammad, but a volunteer began to call him Forrest (after the movie Forrest Gump) when his muscles improved ("Run, Forrest, RUN!")  We are so happy to see Forrest smile and to know God has planned all his steps and prepared the way before him.
