Up Ayman Jaffar Nicola Issa Amer Samer

Ayman has lived in the House of Hope for 12 years and has brightened our lives greatly since his first days here.  Ayman is an example of the changes that occur when Christ comes into a person's life.  He is an example of what happens when caring people invest time and energy into teaching and loving a young man from the heart.  We thank God for his faith, his energy and his story.

Ayman is 20 years old and is mentally disabled and epileptic.  He is from a village near Bethlehem and visits his large and caring Muslim family on holiday breaks.  Ayman's family is especially large because his mother and father are divorced—she moved back to her parents' home when Ayman and his siblings were children and has now remarried.  Ayman's stepmother treated him harshly, and when he came to the House of Hope, he was troubled, wild and especially cold and fearful towards our female workers.

For two to three years, Ayman only walked on his knees, which had become like wood from the constant stress.  Sami and all of our house mothers worked ceaselessly to train and lovingly discipline Ayman.  He began to walk on his feet, to sing songs with the others each evening, to pray, to learn at a local center for handicapped children, and to accept Jesus Christ as Lord.  We are all amazed at the changes in Ayman.

Please pray for Ayman and for his family.  Pray that Ayman continues in his obedience and learns well at the center.  He loves to play with his small cars, to play football with his friends, to ride bikes, to joke and to laugh.  We all thank God for his constant smile.
