Birthday: Dec. 27, 1998
Asma is eight years old, and is from a loving family in a village near
Unfortunately, the extended family of uncles and aunts do not accept Asma
because she has Down's syndrome, so her mother and father sent her to the House
of Hope. They love her very much
and always pick Asma up a few days early for holiday breaks.
Asma's mother is a teacher and her father is a carpenter. He is also
handicapped (missing one hand) but works hard to provide for his family.
Asma loves to learn. She is very
high functioning and can take care of herself (washing, brushing teeth, getting
dressed, etc.). She loves Jesus and
plays the guitar she got for her birthday whenever she has a chance.
Asma loves to play mother to her baby doll-she strokes her so much that
we warn her it's probably not good for her baby.
Please pray that Asma's family will see her joy in Christ.
Pray that Asma will continue to learn to care for herself and for others
in our home. Thank God for the
smile Asma blesses us with, but please pray for her laziness.
Our staff sometimes allows her to be lazy because she is so
cute. God has great plans for Asma's
(Muslim) family and for Asma's caring heart. |
