Name: Ahmud

Birthday: February 22, 1996

Ahmud has lived in the House of Hope for six years and is only ten years old.  We have been blessed by his love for the workers and we are encouraged by his unspoken gratefulness.

Ahmud's family is large (nine siblings!) and is more financially stable than most of our other students.  They live in a big villa near Hebron and Ahmud visits home on holiday weekends.  His sister is also disabled and used to attend school at the House of Hope, but has been taken out of the school because of teachings about Christ.  As Muslims, Ahmud's parents disapprove of their children even considering conversion to Christianity, but have left him with us because they assume he doesn't understand anyways.

Fortunately, Ahmud does understand Christ.  God is a loving Father and has provided Ahmed with a chance to hear the Gospel nightly at evening devotions.  Ahmud's Maker has surrounded him with loving Christian "parents" to teach his little heart about the Truth when he would never otherwise hear of it.  It's a beautiful thing—the way God used Ahmud's mental disabilities to bring Himself glory.  And seeing Ahmud play a shepherd in our Christmas play brought smiles to spiritual family members here at the House of Hope.

Ahmud is being treated for hyperactivity because he was previously unable to sleep before two a.m. every night.  He is doing much better and is normally all smiles.  He loves to snuggle, ride bikes, take walks and swim.  (Ahmud talks of swimming constantly.)  Please pray for Ahmud's continued growth—physically, spiritually and mentally—and for his family.  We are anticipating big things as we remember that God knows our prayers before they even leave our mouths.
