Origin

The House of Hope for the blind and mentally handicapped was founded by May Ladah, a blind Arab lady of prayer. The work was carried on by a man raised in the HOH-Michael David, and today is directed by his widow, Rhoda David.

Purpose

The home seeks to bring the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ through spiritual and practical ministry to the blind, physically and mentally handicapped of all ages.

Functions

The variety of ministry in The House of Hope includes a residential children’s home, accommodation for young or old men and women who are disabled or blind, a workshop for residents to create basic local crafts and a day school for needy Palestinian children.

Workers

Some of the tasks in the home and workshops provide employment for local people, but this work of faith is dependent on Christian believers who are prepared to come and serve as volunteers.

Location

The House of Hope is situated on the main road from Jerusalem to Hebron and is within 15 minutes walking distance from Bethlehem Manager Square.

What we Believe

We as Christian believers accept the revelation of the true God given in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament and confess the historic faith of The Gospel as found in the Bible. We here assert these doctrines below which we regard as crucial to the understanding of faith in Christ, and which should issue in mutual love, practical Christian service and evangelical concern.
The sovereignty and grace of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit in creation, providence, revelation and final judgment.
The divine inspiration of the Holy Scripture and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The universal sinfulness and guilt of fallen man, making him subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
The substitutionary sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as the sole and all sufficient ground of redemption from the guilt and power of sin, and from its eternal consequences.
The justification of the sinner solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of God the Holy Spirit.
The priesthood of all believers, who are from the universal church, the church body of which Christ is the head, who are committed by His command to the proclamation of The Gospel throughout the world.
The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory to the destruction of the wicked and the glorification of the believer in Jesus and His word.
