The Boarding Section

 Life in the Dorms

The children in the boarding section receive clothing and supplies from donations made by organizations and generous benefactors. On occasion, the house parents take the children for special trips outside the home—otherwise, they enjoy playing outside in the yard and playground, or inside the boarding section. Girls and boys have separate flats, bathrooms and kitchens, but often eat meals together. Every evening, the children gather in a time of spiritual devotion that includes singing, praying and listening to stories about Jesus.

The House-Parents

A group of local and foreign workers called "house parents" supervise the boarding section. These house parents take responsibility for the care of the children—they administer meals and medication as well as assist and train in daily living activities such as dressing, personal hygiene, cleaning and laundry.  Every weekday, the children attend our school from eight o'clock in the morning until 1:00 PM. All other times during the week, workers are present to facilitate activities for the children's health, development, and enjoyment.
